Unveiling a royal emoji for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
As a long-term digital partner of The Royal Household, we were given the opportunity to work with them on a once-in-a-lifetime project.
The brief? To create a new royal emoji that would launch in the run-up to the Queen’s 70th Jubilee. The newly launched corgi emoji is now available to use on Twitter and hopes to encourage the nation to celebrate together online, across the country.
The emoji needed to give tribute to the Queen’s 70 years of service and be an icon that the public would get behind. It was really important that we used something symbolic of the Royal Family and the Jubilee.
With ideas aplenty, it was a hard choice, but we finally whittled them down to three contenders. Following their glittering debut on Twitter last week, we can now reveal - it was PJ the corgi that took the crown!
If you’d like to get PJ to appear in your tweets, just use the hashtags #PlatinumJubilee, #HM70, #PlatinumPartyatthePalace, #PlatinumJubileePageant or #TheBigJubileeLunch.
PJ the corgi is just one of the digital tools that have been made especially for the Jubilee celebration. They'll be joined by a selection of digital Jubilee-themed stickers and a crown Instagram filter very soon...
